Pennsylvania teen and mother charged in college student's stabbing death

Royce Moser, 18, of North Strabane Township, Pennsylvania, faces homicide charges in the stabbing death of his girlfriend, Karoline Heintz. Heintz, a student at PennWest California University, was found dead on August 20 after failing to return to her college.

According to a police affidavit, Moser claimed that during a heated conversation in her vehicle in his driveway, a “demon” took over and told him to stab her. Authorities released 37 minutes of police bodycam footage showing the discovery of the victim's body inside her Jeep.

Moser’s mother, Rachel Moser, has also been charged by state police for allegedly assisting in the cover-up of the crime. A preliminary hearing for both individuals was held this past Tuesday.
