Pentelic Hill Festival opens July 11 with free theater, music and gala opera in Athens

The 5th Pentelic Hill Festival will run from 11 to 18 July 2026 at the Ducas Plakentias Hall and the Central Square of New Penteli, offering a programme of theatre, concerts, performance art and a gala opera. All events are free to the public.

Highlights include the opening play “Sparagmos, a narration…”, a musical celebration by Kostas Leivadis marking 185 years of the Ducas Plakentias, the interactive “Play the Lemon Piano” performance, a production of Euripides’ “Ion”, a concert by Ella Paspala titled “The Faces of Love”, and a closing gala opera by the National Symphony Orchestra of ERT featuring soloist Marita Parapizou.

Municipal mayor Natassa Kosmopoulou emphasized that the council is investing in culture as a public good, inviting citizens to “embrace the festival and showcase Penteli as a vibrant cultural hub.”
