Vietnam commodity markets see coffee price drops and stable steel rates

Vietnam's agricultural and industrial commodity markets are experiencing significant fluctuations. Coffee prices in the Central Highlands have seen a downward trend, with domestic prices dropping to between 93,000 and 93,800 VND/kg in recent sessions. This follows volatility on international markets, including the London and New York exchanges.

Other agricultural sectors show mixed results. Pepper prices have remained stable at approximately 137,000 to 141,000 VND/kg, while rice prices in the Mekong Delta remain steady despite slow trading. In the livestock sector, pig prices have seen a localized increase in Northern Vietnam, reaching up to 60,000 VND/kg.

In the industrial and financial sectors, steel prices across Northern, Central, and Southern Vietnam remain relatively stable, ranging from 13,840 to 15,150 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the USD exchange rate at the State Bank of Vietnam's central rate rose slightly to 25,637 VND/USD, amid broader global shifts in the USD Index and interest rate expectations from the Fed and Bank of Japan.
