Keiko Fujimori promotes investment and seeks legislative powers in Peru

President Keiko Fujimori has initiated several key political and economic actions in Peru. She recently inaugurated PepsiCo’s new $59 million Lima Mixing Center in Callao, a major logistics hub intended to boost employment and agricultural supply chains. During the event, she called for increased private investment and emphasized the government's commitment to reducing bureaucracy.

To address urgent national needs, Fujimori has requested legislative powers from Congress to expedite measures regarding citizen security, disaster prevention for the El Niño phenomenon, and administrative reforms. Simultaneously, the administration is integrating over 20 former ministers from previous governments into various technical and advisory roles.

On the economic front, Asbanc has warned that proposed interest rate caps could exclude hundreds of thousands of Peruvians from the formal credit system. Meanwhile, the government is focusing on infrastructure, with the National Infrastructure Authority (ANIN) investing over 360 million soles to mitigate flood risks in 13 ravines within the Rímac river basin. Additionally, the administration is promoting “Services for Taxes” to encourage private sector participation in public works.
