Perak government reviews aid for family of three killed in immigration truck crash

The Perak state government is reviewing appropriate assistance for the family of a father and two daughters who died in a road accident involving a Malaysian Immigration Department truck in Kuala Lumpur. The incident occurred around 1:00 AM on Jalan Sultan Ismail and also involved two other vehicles.

Datuk Salbiah Mohamed, the state chairman for Women, Family, Community, Social Welfare, Entrepreneur Development, and Cooperatives, stated that the Social Welfare Department (JKM) will conduct follow-up visits to identify the family's specific needs. Potential aid includes psychosocial support, counseling services, and monthly financial assistance to help the family sustain themselves following the loss of the head of the household.

The victims identified are retired military personnel Shaik Mohd. Firdaus Shaikh Yahya, 53, and his daughters, Siti Nor Sazlin, 25, and Siti Darwisyah Auni, 12. The mother, Norhayati Razali, 55, remains in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
