Perak seeks new automotive investors for Tanjong Malim AHTV

The Perak state government is currently in discussions with several domestic and international investors interested in joining the Automotive High-Technology Valley (AHTV) ecosystem in Tanjong Malim.

Loh Sze Yee, the Perak State Executive Councilor for Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development, stated that the state and federal governments are actively identifying potential investors. While discussions are ongoing, the names of the companies cannot be disclosed yet due to confidentiality and capital market regulations, particularly for publicly listed entities.

The state is prioritizing long-term solutions over short-term gains, seeking investors that align specifically with the existing automotive ecosystem. Key factors being considered include land availability and compatibility with the current hub, which is led by Geely Holding Group. These new investment discussions follow reports that BYD Company Limited had previously withdrawn its intention to invest in the hub.
