Pere Rostoll named PSPV-PSOE candidate for Benidorm mayoralty

Pere Rostoll has been designated as the PSPV-PSOE candidate for the mayoralty of Benidorm for the May 2027 municipal elections. This follows the decision by regional deputy Mario Villar to withdraw his candidacy and support Rostoll, thereby avoiding a primary election within the local socialist party.

Villar stated that his withdrawal aims to prevent internal division and allow the party to focus on defeating the current mayor, Toni Pérez of the People's Party (PP).

In the nearby city of Alicante, the party has taken a different approach by designating Councilor Trini Amorós as the candidate to challenge the current mayor, Luis Barcala, bypassing the primary process used in other municipalities.
