Overview

The PSPV-PSOE party has continued designating candidates for the May 2027 municipal elections across several Spanish locations.

In Benidorm, Pere Rostoll was named the candidate for mayor following the withdrawal of regional deputy Mario Villar, who stated his decision was intended to “prevent internal division.” In Alicante, the party designated Trini Amorós as the candidate, bypassing the primary process.

In Torrevieja, Bárbara Soler, the current spokesperson for the Socialist Municipal Group, officially presented her candidacy. Most recently, Guillem Alsina was named the official mayoral candidate for Vinaròs. Following a local primary process, Alsina was the sole candidate to submit his candidacy. As the party spokesperson, he aims to revalidate his leadership and maintain the party’s governance in the city.
