Perikatan Nasional continues operations following court stay

Perikatan Nasional (PN) remains able to operate as usual following a Kuala Lumpur High Court order that stayed the implementation of the coalition's suspension and deregistration by the Registrar of Societies (RoS). PN Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan clarified that the filing of an appeal by the RoS and the Ministry of Home Affairs does not automatically suspend the High Court's decision, allowing the coalition to proceed with official business, including Supreme Council meetings.

Internal tensions have surfaced within the coalition, with PAS Deputy President Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man suggesting that Bersatu should withdraw from PN. This follows disputes regarding disciplinary actions against Bersatu for allegedly violating the PN constitution, specifically concerning actions taken during the Negeri Sembilan election. While Bersatu leadership questioned the necessity of such measures, PN leadership maintains that they are scrutinizing actions that may have gone against the coalition's interests.
