Perikatan Nasional faces internal tension over registration status

Political tensions have risen within the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition following the Registrar of Societies (RoS) decision to cancel the coalition's registration. While the High Court has granted a stay on the RoS order pending a judicial review, the legal uncertainty has caused friction between coalition members.

BERSATU has questioned the legitimacy of an emergency PN Supreme Council meeting, citing the RoS's cancellation of the coalition's registration. In response, Parti Wawasan Negara (WAWASAN) Vice President Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan suggested that BERSATU should leave the coalition if they refuse to participate in its activities.

Meanwhile, Parti Wawasan Negara President Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin stated that the party will seek consensus from all PN members before deciding on candidate participation in the upcoming Melaka state elections. He noted that the legal matter regarding the RoS is currently being handled by the courts.
