Perito Moreno launches first commercial flight to Buenos Aires

A new scheduled service operated by American Jet will link the town of Perito Moreno in Santa Cruz province with the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires starting 1 July. The flight will run on alternating Tuesdays and Wednesdays, offering passengers, entrepreneurs and tourists a direct connection that officials say will boost the region’s economic, commercial and tourism development.

Santa Cruz’s Subsecretary of Transport, Andrés Casanova, highlighted the project as a strategic step for integrating the province’s northern zone, noting the extensive work undertaken to upgrade the airport’s infrastructure, safety procedures and baggage‑screening equipment in coordination with national, provincial and municipal authorities. The route is part of a broader plan to improve air connectivity across Santa Cruz, with parallel upgrades at the airports of Puerto San Julián and Puerto Deseado.
