Ukraine drone strikes hit Perm oil refinery 1,500 km from border
Ukrainian forces launched a massive drone offensive targeting industrial and energy infrastructure deep within Russia. The most significant strike hit the Lukoil oil refinery in Perm, located approximately 1,500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. Reports indicate the facility caught fire following the attack.
Russia reported intercepting 592 drones across 18 different regions. Other targets included the Iskra electronics factory in Ulyanovsk, which produces components for communication and radio technology, and a synthetic rubber plant in Voronezh. In the occupied Luhansk region, a large construction materials facility was also reportedly hit.
Simultaneously, Russian forces continued strikes on Ukraine. An attack on Kyiv resulted in two deaths and eight injuries, with damage reported to residential buildings and a maternity hospital. The escalation highlights Ukraine's ongoing strategy to disrupt Russia's military and economic capabilities by targeting its energy sector.
