Pernambuco government inaugurates new childcare centers
The Government of Pernambuco, through the State Secretariat of Education, has inaugurated several new early childhood education centers (CEIs) across the state.
In the Agreste region, two new facilities were opened: the Julia Grazieli Moraes Pereira center in Brejo da Madre de Deus, representing an investment of over R$ 5 million, and the Professora Eulina Gomes do Nascimento center in Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, with an investment of R$ 5.9 million. Each facility has the capacity to serve up to 324 children and includes ten classrooms, multi-use rooms, kitchens, and breastfeeding areas.
Additionally, the Aída de Andrade Lima Rabello center was inaugurated in Arcoverde, located in the Sertão do Moxotó. This unit received an investment of approximately R$ 5.2 million and is equipped with solar energy and air conditioning. It also accommodates up to 324 children in full-time or part-time programs.
These projects are part of a Collaboration Regime with municipalities, where the state handles construction, equipment, and initial funding for up to 12 months, while municipalities manage pedagogical and administrative operations. These recent openings bring the total number of state-built creches delivered to the population to 21.
