Pernambuco government inaugurates two new creches

The Government of Pernambuco, through the State Secretariat of Education (SEE), has inaugurated two new early childhood education centers in the municipalities of Mirandiba and Tacaratu.

In Mirandiba, the Salvador Rodrigues Xavier Early Childhood Education Center (CEI) was opened in the Cachoeirinha district. The facility has a capacity for 324 children and involved an investment of approximately R$ 6 million. The structure includes ten classrooms, a breastfeeding room, a lactarium, and various support spaces designed for accessibility and monitoring.

In Tacaratu, the Maria José Campos de Lima CEI was delivered with an investment of approximately R$ 6.2 million. This center also accommodates up to 324 children and features ten classrooms, a multipurpose room, and specialized areas such as a lactarium and solarium.

Both projects were executed through a partnership between the SEE, the Secretariat of Strategic Projects (Sepe), and the State Housing and Works Company (Cehab). Under the state-municipal collaboration model, the Pernambuco government is responsible for construction and equipment, while providing maintenance funding for up to one year for new enrollments. The municipalities retain pedagogical and administrative management of the units.
