Pernambuco government upgrades ICUs at two Recife hospitals

The Government of Pernambuco has completed infrastructure upgrades at two major public hospitals in Recife.

At Hospital Barão de Lucena, the state invested R$ 235,000 to requalify the Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The project included improvements to the electrical and lighting networks, the hydro-sanitary system, climate control, and interior finishes. The unit features 20 beds designed for high-risk patients and includes specialized areas such as general ICU, isolation rooms with anterooms, and utility rooms.

Additionally, the government delivered renovations at Hospital Agamenon Magalhães, involving investments of over R$ 1.3 million for the General ICU and the hospital kitchen. The ICU upgrades, costing approximately R$ 330,000, modernized an 18-bed space, including two isolation beds. These interventions are part of a broader R$ 100 million investment in the facility to improve patient care and working conditions for medical staff.
