Governor Raquel Lyra launches PE‑560 highway and rural property titles in Pernambuco
Governor Raquel Lyra concluded a major infrastructure agenda in Pernambuco’s interior on 17 June. In Bodocó, she inaugurated the 14.4‑km PE‑560 highway – a project delayed for about 60 years – with an investment of roughly R$31.8 million. The road includes a 30‑metre bridge, drainage, paving, signage and safety works, and is expected to benefit more than 34 000 residents by improving mobility and local commerce. Lyra also handed 84 families in the Raul Alves neighbourhood their land‑ownership titles, reinforcing legal security for dozens of households, and delivered two new school buses for the municipality.
Later that day in Orocó, Lyra announced R$23.7 million in further investments: a new full‑time elementary school capable of serving up to 969 students (costing over R$11.5 million), asphalt‑road rehabilitation for the access route to the Brígida fruit‑growing project (about R$10 million), and the opening of the town’s second community kitchen, which will provide roughly 200 free meals per day for vulnerable families. "Não se brinca com a esperança do povo," Lyra said in Bodocó, and added in Orocó, "Estamos chegando a Orocó com investimentos que transformam a vida das pessoas."
