Pernambuco leaders intensify interior campaign ahead of elections
Senate candidate Marília Arraes (PDT) visited the Sertão do Pajeú municipalities of Afogados da Ingazeira, Solidão, São José do Egito and Itapetim, meeting local officials and radio audiences. She urged voters to elect a Senate bench that supports tax exemptions for low‑income workers’ tools and shields such equipment from seizure, emphasizing alignment with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s agenda.
Federal deputy Fernando Monteiro (PSD) toured Caruaru, Serra Talhada, Arcoverde, Buíque, Paranatama, Custódia and Jurema during the June festive period, holding meetings with mayors and residents. He pledged to keep a close dialogue with municipalities and to secure investments and projects to improve employment, infrastructure and public services in Pernambuco’s interior.
