Pernambuco Meu País Festival concludes third edition in Caruaru

The third edition of the Pernambuco Meu País Festival is concluding its tour in Caruaru, Pernambuco. The event, which has traveled through ten cities since July, is expected to generate approximately R$ 19.2 million in the city and attract over 120,000 visitors during its five-day run from August 26 to August 30.

This year's festival honors cultural figures such as Mestre Vitalino, Irineu do Mestre, and Janete Costa. The program includes free public activities focused on various artistic languages and the creative economy, aimed at decentralizing cultural access across the state.

As part of the festival's programming, the 'Olhares Afogadenses' film showcase will be held in Caruaru between August 28 and 30. Created by journalist Leonardo Lemos, the showcase features short films produced in Afogados da Ingazeira, such as ‘A hora do Tabaqueiro’ and ‘A Ponte’. The screenings aim to preserve material and immaterial heritage through audiovisual storytelling and include public debates.
