Eduardo Riedel and Raquel Lyra re-elected as governors in Brazil

In the 2026 Brazilian elections, Eduardo Riedel (PP) was re-elected governor of Mato Grosso do Sul in the first round, securing 67.36% of valid votes. Riedel achieved a historic milestone by winning in all 79 municipalities of the state. His main challenger, Fábio Trad (PT), received approximately 23% of the votes.

In Pernambuco, Raquel Lyra (PSD) secured re-election as governor in the first round with 53.27% of the valid votes, defeating João Campos (PSB). For the Senate, Humberto Costa (PT) and Marília Arraes (PDT) were elected to fill the state's two available seats. Costa, a veteran politician, secured his third consecutive mandate.

Additionally, Luciano Lorenzini Zucco (PL) was elected governor of Rio Grande do Sul in the first round with 58.05% of the valid votes, defeating Juliana Brizola (PDT).
