Brazil 2026 elections: Polling shows leaders in Rio, Pernambuco, and Pará

New election polling data from various institutes, including Datafolha and AtlasIntel, reveals the current landscape for several Brazilian state government races in 2026.

In Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes leads the race for governor with 43% of voting intentions, followed by Douglas Ruas at 25%. In Pernambuco, Governor Raquel Lyra maintains a lead with 47% of the votes, while João Campos follows with 42%. A Datafolha simulation for a second round between Lyra and Campos places Lyra at 51% and Campos at 44%.

In Pará, Hana Ghassan leads the gubernatorial race with 48.5%, while Helder Barbalho leads the race for the Senate with 24.9%. In Alagoas, JHC holds 49.3% of the voting intentions against Renan Filho's 46.4%.

Other notable results include Celina Leão leading in the Distrito Federal with 40%, and Cleitinho Azevedo leading the race in Minas Gerais with 37%.
