Persona franchise surpasses 30 million sales as Persona 4 Revival details emerge

The Persona video game franchise has surpassed 30 million units sold worldwide, according to official data from SEGA. The series has successfully transitioned from a niche Japanese spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei into a global phenomenon, with 80% of total sales occurring outside of Japan. North America leads the market with 40% of sales, while Japan, Europe, and the Asia/MENA regions each account for 20%.

Individual title performance includes Persona 5 and its Royal version, which has sold 13 million units. Persona 3 has reached 5 million units, including 3 million from Persona 3 Reload, while Persona 4 has contributed 5.7 million copies.

Regarding the upcoming Persona 4 Revival remake, Atlus and SEGA have revealed new details including ‘Location Episodes’ that introduce new narrative elements to the Inaba map. This includes the character Aika Nakamura, who appeared in the 2011 anime adaptation. The remake is scheduled for release on February 18, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and later for Nintendo Switch 2.
