Pertamina Keeps Pertalite Supplies Steady as Subsidy Pressures Grow

Pertamina Patra Niaga confirmed that Pertalite, the subsidised gasoline, remains fully stocked and is being distributed normally to all SPBU stations across Indonesia. Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun highlighted the use of an integrated logistics network, real‑time monitoring and a nationwide infrastructure that spans from Sabang to Merauke, enabling quick response to regional supply needs.

At the same time, DPR member Ateng Sutisna warned that rising global oil prices and a weakening rupiah have forced a 32% increase in the price of non‑subsidised fuel Pertamax. He cautioned that this could trigger a mass shift of consumers from Pertamax to Pertalite, threatening the 2026 quota of 29.2 million kilolitres and adding pressure to the state budget. Sutisna urged stricter targeting of subsidies, digital distribution tools and a revision of the 2014 presidential regulation to keep the subsidy sustainable.
