Indonesia fuel prices rise for non-subsidized products
Major fuel providers in Indonesia, including Pertamina Patra Niaga, BP-AKR, and Shell, have implemented price adjustments for several non-subsidized fuel products starting in early September 2026.
Pertamina Patra Niaga raised prices for Pertamax Turbo (now Rp19,600/liter), Dexlite (now Rp23,700/liter), and Pertamina Dex (now Rp25,200/liter). Additionally, Pertamax Green 95 saw an increase to Rp19,150 per liter. Notably, the price of Pertamax (RON 92) remained stable at Rp15,950 per liter, a decision officials state is intended to protect consumer purchasing power.
Private providers also adjusted rates. BP-AKR increased BP Ultimate to Rp19,330 per liter and BP Ultimate Diesel to Rp25,420 per liter. Shell Indonesia raised Shell V-Power Diesel to Rp25,420 per liter. These adjustments follow global market dynamics and fluctuations in crude oil prices.
In response to the rising costs of non-subsidized fuels like Dexlite, some motorists have shifted to using subsidized Biosolar, leading to increased queues at various gas stations. Meanwhile, the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources warned that geopolitical tensions could further increase global energy costs, potentially raising national energy subsidies and compensation to approximately Rp700 trillion.
