Peru and Bolivia repair key roads after heavy rains

The Municipal Provincial of Abancay in Peru is restoring public spaces along the Chinchichaca stream as a preparatory step for the future Vía Expresa Sur. Work includes riverbank protection, removal of illegally occupied areas and measures to reduce pollution, aiming to improve traffic flow and support water‑and‑sewerage projects.

In Bolivia, the Administradora Boliviana de Carreteras (ABC) has rehabilitated the road to Samaipata in Santa Cruz department. The effort, coordinated with the municipal government, addresses damage from recent rains and seeks to keep the route open for residents and tourists during the upcoming Andean Amazonic New Year celebrations.
