Peru and Chile Municipalities Start Reconstruction Plans for Communities

The provincial mayor of Santa visited the Dubai settlement in Nuevo Chimbote, Peru, to hear the concerns of more than 250 families. Residents asked for formal zoning, road paving and reliable water service. The municipality pledged to begin technical assessments and coordinate actions to improve road access and overall living conditions.

In Coquimbo, Chile, Mayor Ali Manouchehri presented a detailed diagnosis of damage caused by a recent frontal weather system. The municipality has already allocated 6.706 billion Chilean pesos for emergency response, road repairs, flood‑water solutions and other infrastructure projects, and is seeking additional national resources to complete larger works such as coastal road upgrades and drainage improvements.
