Peru launches anti‑trafficking campaign in Juliaca and upgrades security assets in Pisco

Public authorities in Peru's southern regions announced coordinated actions to combat crime. In Juliaca, Puno, officials will hold an information fair on 21 July, install permanent banners at the main bus terminal and distribute educational material in schools to raise awareness of human‑trafficking risks, especially for minors. Coordinator Enrique Álvarez Segura emphasized that Puno records the highest number of trafficking victims and called for media support and stronger citizen vigilance.

In the coastal province of Pisco, municipal leaders signed a pact with Pluspetrol to acquire 13 vans, 32 motorcycles, protective gear, radios and video‑surveillance equipment for seven local municipalities. Mayor Pedro Fuentes Hernández said the new resources will reinforce joint patrols with the National Police and improve response to criminal incidents across the province.
