Peru launches construction of new SMV headquarters under tax‑linked investment scheme

The Peruvian government inaugurated the construction of a new headquarters for the Superintendencia del Mercado de Valores (SMV) in Miraflores, Lima. The ceremony, attended by Economy Minister Rodolfo Acuña, PROINVERSIÓN chief Luis Del Carpio, and SMV superintendent Juan Pichihua, marked the first stone placement for a project financed through the Obras por Impuestos (tax‑linked public‑private) mechanism.

The building, designed by the private consortium Grupo Flesan (De Vicente Constructora and Flesan Energía), will cover 15,776 m² on seven office levels with four underground parking levels. The estimated investment is S/ 100.8 million, and the construction is scheduled for 675 calendar days. The modern facility aims to improve the SMV’s capacity to supervise, regulate and promote Peru’s securities market, strengthening the financial system and supporting broader economic growth.

PROINVERSIÓN highlighted the project as a showcase of how public‑private collaborations can accelerate infrastructure development, noting that the Obras por Impuestos scheme has already allocated a record S/ 5,822 million to 356 projects in the first half of the year.
