Peru mortgage loans rise 7.5% YoY in May 2026

The Banco Central de Reserva (BCR) reported that mortgage credit in Peru grew 7.5% year‑on‑year in May 2026, accelerating from 7.1% in April. On a monthly basis, mortgage lending increased by 0.7%.

The expansion was largely driven by an 8.2% interannual rise in mortgage loans issued in the national currency, reflecting stronger demand for housing financing during the period.
