Peru police apprehend suspects in separate student robberies

Authorities in Peru have apprehended two separate suspects following violent robberies targeting students.

In Juliaca, municipal security agents (Serenazgo) located and detained an 18-year-old man, identified as Ariem C. M., accused of physically assaulting and attempting to rob a school student. The victim, a student from I. E. S. Perú BIRF, sustained visible facial injuries during the incident near Huayna Cápac Avenue. Both the suspect and the victim were transferred to the DEPINCRI in Juliaca for police investigation.

In Chincha, police captured a man identified as J. Farfán after he allegedly assaulted a 24-year-old university student. The victim was intercepted while walking near the Cristiano de la Justicia population center, where the assailant used force to steal her purse, cash, and mobile phone. Following a report to the Alto Larán police station, officers located the suspect on a dirt road in possession of the stolen items, including 200 soles and credit cards. The suspect has been placed at the disposal of the Crimes and Misdemeanors Section.
