Peru is actively seeking international investment for its mining and infrastructure sectors. During the IMARC 2026 summit in Australia, the Ministry of Energy and Mines presented a 2026 mining investment portfolio consisting of 66 projects with an estimated value of US$64.075 billion, alongside an exploration portfolio of 57 projects valued at US$672 million. Additionally, Peru’s investment agency, ProInversión, presented a US$50 billion portfolio of 87 projects to US investors in New York, targeting sectors such as rail, ports, power, gas, and water.

In the agricultural sector, August 2026 data shows a 4.5% national increase in husk rice production, reaching 138,726 tons, driven by high yields in Piura and Ucayali. Blueberry production also saw significant growth, rising 29.8% compared to August 2025, totaling 58,731 tons.

Conversely, copper production decreased by 5.3% in August 2026 compared to the previous year, attributed to lower volumes from companies including Antapaccay, Minera Chinalco, and Southern Peru Copper Corporation. The Andesmin 2026 convention is currently being held in Ayacucho to discuss regional mining and infrastructure investments.
