Peru targets $116 billion in investment to close infrastructure gaps
Peru is preparing for a new cycle of investment aimed at closing infrastructure gaps and stimulating national economic activity, according to the 2027-2030 Multiannual Macroeconomic Framework (MMM) approved by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The government identifies a diversified project portfolio valued at approximately $116 billion, including $64 billion in the extractive sector alone.
Key investment strategies include a $34 billion portfolio of public-private partnerships (PPP) scheduled for award between 2026 and 2028, targeting sectors such as health, industry, electricity transmission, sanitation, and education. The government intends to utilize these mechanisms to accelerate disbursements and address structural deficiencies.
In support of these goals, the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL) is organizing a forum titled ‘Works for Taxes: perspectives and opportunities for the next five years.’ The event will bring together public and private sector representatives to analyze the ‘Works for Taxes’ (OxI) mechanism as a vital tool for executing projects and meeting regional infrastructure needs.
