Peru venture capital grows 63% amid new investment and innovation initiatives

Peru's venture capital market has seen a 63% growth, according to recent data. To capitalize on this momentum, the 11th Peru Venture Capital Conference (PVCC26) will be held in Lima on October 15 as part of Peru Tech Week. The event will feature a matchmaking space connecting Peruvian investors with institutional investors from Mexico, Brazil, and the United States to expand financing opportunities for local companies.

Research indicates that demand for startup financing in Peru could exceed $1.106 billion between 2026 and 2030. Currently, 93.7% of venture capital in the country originates from abroad. Experts suggest that increasing local institutional investment from insurance companies and family offices, alongside tax parity for foreign and local investors, could further accelerate growth.

In tandem with financial efforts, the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) is launching its Open Innovation Program through Start UPC during Peru Tech Week (October 12-18). The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic research and corporate needs by applying engineering to challenges in sectors such as health and education, facilitating pilots and patenting solutions.
