Peru's agricultural exports climb 6.9% in first four months of 2026

Peru's agricultural export value reached US$3.899 billion between January and April 2026, marking a 6.9% increase over the same period a year earlier. Non‑traditional exports accounted for US$3.699 billion, up 5.7%, while traditional categories jumped 35.8% driven by coffee, refined sugar, molasses and wool.

Fresh grapes led the export basket with US$772 million (20.9% of total), followed by avocados at US$463 million (12.5%). Other key products included fresh blueberries (US$340 million), mangoes (US$266 million), other fresh fruits, asparagus, cacao beans, frozen mangoes and animal feed. Fast‑growing categories were vegetable seeds (+76.2%), passion‑fruit juice (+55.8%), fresh blueberries (+41.1%) and other fresh fruits (+37.1%).

The main destinations were the United States, the Netherlands, Spain, Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Canada and China, together representing about 80.3% of export value. April alone saw exports of US$845 million, up 7.1% from April 2025, and the agricultural trade surplus stood at US$1.615 billion, a 17.4% rise year‑on‑year.
