Peru's Central Bank Board Filled as Executive Appoints Three New Directors
On 6 August 2026, the Peruvian executive branch completed its quota of representatives on the board of the Banco Central de Reserva del Perú (BCRP) by appointing Luis Miguel Palomino Bonilla, Inés Marylin Choy Chong and Gustavo Adolfo Yamada Fukusaki. The appointments were made through Supreme Resolution No. 250‑2026‑PCM, signed by President Keiko Fujimori, Council of Ministers President Luis Galarreta and Finance Minister Elmer Cuba, and published in the official gazette El Peruano.
With these three members, the executive now holds its four seats on the seven‑member board, the remaining three being chosen by Congress. The board is chaired by Julio Velarde, who continues in the role pending congressional ratification of his term extension. The new directors bring experience in economics, public policy and academic research, and will participate in the BCRP’s monetary‑policy decisions.
