Peru's early‑2026 export boom driven by Inca Kola, turrón and interior region commodities

Peruvian exports climbed sharply in the first five months of 2026. Inca Kola recorded US$8.49 million in value and 14.3 million litres, a 13.2 % increase over the same period in 2025, with 82 % of the volume shipped to Chile. The beverage also saw strong growth in the Netherlands (560 % rise) and the United States (67.6 % rise in value, 114.5 % in volume). Traditional turrón experienced a 44.7 % jump in export value and a 36.3 % rise in volume, expanding its presence in European markets.

Exports from Peru’s interior regions reached US$38.98 billion, up 40.6 % year‑on‑year and representing 86.6 % of the nation’s total foreign shipments. Nineteen regions increased sales, led by Huánuco with US$196 million driven by zinc, and notable commodity surges in An Cash (copper), Cajamarca (gold, coffee), La Libertad (gold, silver, blueberry), Piura (ethanol, gold, mango), Arequipa (copper, gold, lead), and Puno (gold, quinoa). Most shipments left via the Port of Callao, Jorge Chávez Airport, and the port of Matarani, with the Chancay Multipurpose Port terminal adding US$322 million in exports.
