Peru's textile sector lifts exports to $1.736 billion in 2025

Peru's textile and apparel industry reported export sales of US$1.736 billion for 2025, a 6 % increase over the previous year. The sector involved 1,721 companies, most of which are micro, small and medium‑size enterprises, and its main markets were the United States, the European Union, Colombia and Brazil.

Three luxury Accor‑brand hotels in Lima – Pullman Miraflores, Pullman San Isidro and Manto MGallery – received the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2026, placing them among the top 10 % of globally rated hotels.

A ManpowerGroup employment survey indicated that 43 % of Peruvian employers intend to increase staff in the July‑September quarter, with the hotel and tourism sector showing the strongest hiring intent (net employment index 43 %). Construction, real estate, manufacturing and IT also posted positive hiring expectations.

The Central Bank reported that non‑traditional exports grew 3.4 % in April 2026, driven by higher average export prices (up 4.4 %). Volume fell 1 % overall, but agricultural and chemical shipments rose, especially to the United States and the EU, while sales to Asia, including China, declined. Around 70 % of firms credited artificial‑intelligence tools for productivity gains, and 67 % highlighted upskilling in AI as key to meeting corporate goals.
