Peru's ex-PM Yehude Simon calls for reconciliation after election

Former prime minister Yehude Simon met with president‑elect Keiko Fujimori at the Force Popular headquarters, joined by agrarian representatives concerned about El Niño impacts and irrigation projects such as Majes and Olmos.

Simon emphasized that his visit was at the farmers' request, denied any ambition to join the incoming cabinet, and urged the nation to move past electoral disputes, respect the vote and pursue dialogue and national reconciliation.
