Peru's Fiestas Patrias boosts tourism, generates $254 million

The July 25‑29 Fiestas Patrias holiday in Peru is projected to draw about 1.9 million domestic tourists and create an economic impact near US $254 million, with an average spend of S/547 per person on transport, accommodation, food, retail and recreation.

Willard Manrique, CEO of Grupo Crosland, advises businesses to fine‑tune promotions during the campaign. He recommends five adjustments: review real margins with updated costs, separate products by commercial function, correct promotions that only drive volume, analyse results by sales channel, and gather post‑campaign data to inform August demand. "Cuando la campaña ya está en marcha, la pregunta cambia. No se trata solo de vender más, sino de saber qué se está sacrificando para lograr esa venta," he said.
