Indeci director Julio César Gálvez reported that the number of affected people rose from about 300 the previous day to “already surpassing 2,000 damnificados,” but the figures have not yet been posted on the national SINPAD platform because local mayors must first validate each entry. He highlighted the involvement of volunteer engineers and municipal teams from Huancayo in gathering and confirming data.

President‑elect Keiko Fujimori announced that her first official trip will be to Chupaca to assess the situation on the ground and provide concrete assistance, emphasizing the visit as a test of her upcoming administration’s ability to deliver rapid, effective relief.
