Peru's Ositran reports $670 million infrastructure investment surge in first half of 2026

The Public Transport Infrastructure Investment Supervisory Agency (Ositran) said that concession companies valued $670 million in infrastructure projects from January to June 2026, a 25.6% rise over the $533.6 million recorded for the same period in 2025. Road investments led the growth with $60.8 million, driven mainly by IIRSA Norte (Paita‑Yurimaguas) and IIRSA Sur projects, while the Red Vial 6 corridor added $11.5 million.

The airport sector remained the largest, accounting for $313 million (up 73.2% year‑on‑year), almost entirely from expansion works at Jorge Chávez International Airport ($297.2 million). Rail and Lima Metro projects were valued at $287.8 million, comparable to the previous year and covering Line 2 and the Ramal 4 extensions. In contrast, port investments fell sharply, dropping 81% to $8.4 million.
