Peru's Ositrán reports $2.376 bn of port investments executed

The Organismo Supervisor de la Inversión en Infraestructura de Transporte de Uso Público (Ositrán) confirmed that concession‑operated ports in Peru had executed US$2.376 billion in investments by the end of April 2026, representing 57 % of the US$4.167 billion originally planned under the concession contracts. The spending has expanded port infrastructure, adding over 4 km of new berths, 18 quay‑cranes, 58 yard‑cranes and 13 mobile cranes, along with warehouses, silos and container yards.

Key terminals with the highest execution rates include the Callao Mineral Concentrate Loading Terminal (100 % completed), the new Callao South Container Terminal (99 %) and the Paita Port Terminal (94 %). Ongoing projects at five other ports are expected to receive more than US$6.5 million in 2026. The modernised facilities helped move over 65 million tonnes of cargo in 2025—a record for the third consecutive year—and handled more than 3.8 million TEU of containers, reinforcing the ports’ role in Peru’s foreign trade competitiveness.
