Peru's telecom regulator OSIPTEL records record mobile number portings in May 2026

OSIPTEL reported that 544,837 mobile lines changed operator in Peru during May 2026, marking the highest monthly total for the year and a 4.68% increase over April. Postpaid lines accounted for about 78% of the moves, with more than 425,000 lines ported, the fourth‑highest postpaid figure since the 2014 rollout of number portability.

Among operators, Entel achieved the largest net gain with 11,458 additional lines, overtaking Claro which added 8,126 lines. Guinea Mobile recorded a modest net positive of 137 lines, while Bitel and Movistar lost 8,522 and 11,199 lines respectively. Fixed‑line portings also rose, reaching 5,580 changes in May, a 761% jump from the previous month, with Movistar and ON Empresas posting the biggest net gains.
