The Senate of the Republic approved the composition of its eight ordinary commissions for the 2026‑2027 session, allocating seats to Fuerza Popular, Juntos por el Perú, Renovación Popular and other parliamentary groups. The Chamber of Deputies also ratified the structure of its 16 ordinary commissions and the new Parliamentary Ethics Commission, confirming six members: Mery Infantes (Fuerza Popular), Jessica Pérez Quispe (Juntos por el Perú), Edwin Espinoza Huillca (Partido del Buen Gobierno), Javier Cipriani Thorne (Renovación Popular), Heber López Letona (Obras) and Harvey Colchado Huamaní (Ahora Nación). César Tito Rojas was removed from the Ethics Commission and replaced by Jessica Pérez Quispe after a request from his own party. Fuerza Popular’s spokesperson, Cecilia Chacón, stated the party will not chair the Ethics Commission, emphasizing proportionality in commission presidencies. Juntos por el Perú announced its intent to seek the presidencies of the Justice and Education commissions. Senate vice‑president Nilsa Chacón highlighted the reactivation of bicameralism and the ongoing work to allocate committee responsibilities.
