Judicial bodies across Peru and Mexico train staff and mark Day of the Judge

Community defenders in Veracruz, Mexico were trained by the Kalli Luz Marina association to use the digital platform “Veracruzana Protegida” for rapid protection orders for women facing violence. In Peru, several regional courts marked the Day of the Judge with statements and initiatives: the Superior Court of Cajamarca highlighted ethics, AI and access to justice; the Superior Court of Puno’s president denied corruption and reaffirmed judicial independence; the Superior Court of Ancash honored long‑serving magistrates. The Loreto Superior Court organized a technical workshop led by Judge Gabriela Ramírez Reátegui to harmonise protection measures under Law 30364 for victims of gender‑based violence, involving police and justice operators. The Tumbes Superior Court coordinated with the regional health directorate to train school peace judges on violence prevention and mental health. In Arequipa, the Tacna Superior Court announced a new Regional Appeals Chamber specialized in flagrancy cases, to serve Tacna, Moquegua and Arequipa. President Keiko Fujimori of Peru declared “absolute respect” for the separation of powers and pledged support for faster, transparent justice. In Chile’s Magallanes region, the SEREMI for Women and Gender Equity held a workshop on the Integral Law against gender violence, informing community leaders about protection routes. An Argentine legislative training in Jujuy focused on gender‑perspective care policies. These events illustrate a regional push to strengthen judicial capacity, gender‑based violence response, and institutional integrity.
