Judicial institutions implement modernization and community safety programs

Various judicial and community initiatives are being implemented across Latin America to improve legal access, modernize infrastructure, and combat violence.

In Peru, the Superior Court of Justice of Lambayeque has provided 66 computers to peace judges to bridge the technological gap, and is working on technical files to recover the San José judicial headquarters. In Cusco, 62 women leaders have been trained as judicial guides to act as links between citizens and the justice system, specifically focusing on gender equality and the eradication of violence. In Huaraz, informative fairs were held to promote the prevention of violence against women, while in Santa, community groups were trained to recognize and report risks to build safer neighborhoods.

In Argentina, the government of Catamarca presented its progress in judicial modernization, digitalization, and mediation before the Federal Council of Justice, securing its role as a host for upcoming national mediation forums. Additionally, in Moquegua, local authorities conducted informative sessions regarding the proper use of sewage systems to preserve public infrastructure.
