Peruvian Navy warns of anomalous swells along central coast

The Peruvian Navy, through its Directorate of Hydrography and Navigation, has issued a warning regarding anomalous swells along the Peruvian coastline from October 15 to October 19.

In the central coastal region, including the provinces of Santa, Casma, and Huarmey, light southwest swells are expected to arrive on the morning of Thursday, October 15. These conditions are projected to increase to moderate levels on the night of Friday, October 16, before subsiding to light swells by the afternoon of Sunday, October 18.

Authorities have urged fishermen, port operators, and the general public to take preventive measures to avoid accidents and property damage, particularly at open and semi-open beaches facing the southwest. The Navy emphasized the importance of following safety regulations established by port captaincies to protect lives during maritime and recreational activities.
