Peruvian police arrest members of two criminal organizations

Peruvian police have conducted separate operations against criminal groups in the Tumbes and Madre de Dios regions.

In Tumbes, authorities arrested a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old identified as members of the “Los Bolongos de Zarumilla” organization. The arrests followed an armed confrontation and pursuit in Zarumilla after a person was shot. During the exchange of gunfire, police seized a pistol with ammunition and a motorcycle used by the suspects.

In Madre de Dios, three individuals associated with the “Los Cazadores de Tambopata” gang were detained in Puerto Maldonado. The group was allegedly planning robberies against mining camps. Police seized two rifles, 382 cartridges, tactical vests, a vehicle, and various other items during the operation.
