Peruvian police arrest suspects in gang‑related crimes across Juliaca, Lurín, Camaná and Chimbote

Police forces of the National Police of Peru carried out a series of operations under the 2026‑2028 National Security Plan. In Juliaca, two Bolivian nationals were detained after attempting to leave a department store with merchandise valued at about S/ 900, part of the alleged “Los Jachos de Juliaca” theft ring.

In the coastal town of Nuevo Chimbote, authorities seized 146 grams of marijuana and arrested two alleged members of the “Los Chacales de Toño” gang, also confiscating several phones and SIM cards that may be linked to extortion.

In the Lima district of Lurín, the criminal network dubbed “La Seguridad del Sur” was dismantled; two members were captured and police recovered a firearm, dynamite, cartridges and electronic equipment, including a drone, used for extortion against public transport companies.

Separately in the province of Camaná, five suspects identified with the “Los Iqueños del Norte” group were apprehended after a house robbery, with a minor among those detained. All detainees were placed in police custody pending further investigation.
