Peruvian police dismantle 'Los tentáculos de Los Pulpos' gang in Trujillo

National police in Trujillo, Peru, dismantled the criminal group known as “Los tentáculos de Los Pulpos.” The operation began by locating a minivan (plate CBS‑333) used in the killing of 29‑year‑old Giancarlo Andre Cruz Neyra, alias “Fito,” in the Victor Larco district. Searches of the vehicle and subsequent raids at the Glow Club in Moche and residences in Nuevo Jerusalén led to the arrest of three suspects: Yerson Smith Lima Fernández (21, “Piurano”), Edgar Raúl Carranza Pérez (23, “Chato”), and a 17‑year‑old minor identified only as A. D. R. V. (“Timi”).

Police seized three Glock pistols, additional vehicle plates, ammunition, a shell casing and several mobile phones, including one that recorded the fatal shooting. The minor confessed that he carried out the murder for “necessity” and pleaded for criminal groups to stop recruiting youths. All detainees and evidence have been handed over to the competent authorities for further investigation.
