Peruvian police dismantle two alleged explosive‑extortion gangs

Police in northern Peru's Sullana province announced the capture of four members of the suspected gang “Los Goteros del Norte” after an explosive attack on a high‑end vehicle‑repair workshop. The operation seized two dynamite‑type devices, four mobile phones and the motorbike used to deliver the bomb. The suspects – identified as Luis D. F. M. (27), Beckhan A. Z. F. (20), K. J. H. C. (23) and Aldair I. F. H. (18) – remain in custody while investigators probe links to earlier extortion bombings in the region.

In the southern Ica region, police also reported the dismantling of the alleged “Los Fríos de Parcona” gang following an explosive attack on a restaurant in Parcona’s Botijería Angulo Sur area. Two men, Richard Jossue Torres Riveros (20) and Rodolfo Alonso Galindo Siguas (23), and a 17‑year‑old boy were detained. Officers confiscated a vehicle, three cartridges, two slow‑match fuses, three cell phones and other evidence. The suspects are being investigated for multiple recent bombings targeting civilians and businesses.

Both operations are part of a wider crackdown on criminal groups using explosives for extortion in Peru, with authorities continuing investigations into further attacks.
